TALISKER 10 YEAR OLD
“The 10 year old is my personal favourite – it’s just perfect to sit and savour at the end of the day.
I get that peatiness and smokiness – but I don’t get too much pepperiness. It’s smooth with a comforting afterglow. I can’t think of a better nightcap for when the evening stint is over and all I need for company is the stars and the sound of the seas crashing against the rocks.”

APPEARANCE
Brilliant gold
NOSE
Powerful peat-smoke with just a hint of sea-water saltiness, fresh oysters, and a citrus sweetness.
BODY
Full.
PALATE
A rich dried-fruit sweetness with clouds of smoke and strong barley-malt flavours, warming and intense. Peppery at the back of the mouth.
FINISH
Huge, long, warming and peppery in the finish with an appetising sweetness.
TALISKER 18 YEAR OLD
“When first nosed there was fruit, a lot of it: plums, orange peel, a richer sweeter experience than expected.
Adding water brought out the Talisker of old: seaweed, smoke, low level peat, with the characteristic chilli catch in the finish. Highly appealing to my taste”

APPEARANCE
Amber
NOSE
Rich and fruity Victoria plums, greengages, perhaps dried
orange peel with some butterscotch or rum toffee and a thread of smoke behind. The smoke soon advances into the foreground and the toffee note is joined by a light mintiness. With water, those maritime characteristics emerge once again dry boat varnish, edible seaweed. Still sweet; now with notes of iodine and the smokiness of an un-struck match.
BODY
Full. Pleasant, smooth.
PALATE
Sweet in front, then more assertive, with a whiff of smoke. The overall effect is warming. The development is towards smoke, coal-tar and toffee.
FINISH
Medium length. The characteristic chilli 'catch' in the finish is subtly present in the aftertaste.
TALISKER 25 YEAR OLD
“The 25 year old is a beautifully orchestrated variation of Talisker.
There’s smoke on the nose, followed by Christmas cake fruit, and a spicy slow release of balanced flavours. The lingering finish cannot outstay its welcome. A star.”

APPEARANCE
Bright olive gold.
NOSE
Nose drying. Seaweed and old oranges, with smoke in the distance and some chalk. Surprisingly fruity and juicy, although with clear Talisker identity. With water almost soapy, a waxy sweetness. Smoke still present, but now more fragrant.
BODY
Firm. Slippery smooth..
PALATE
Sweet and meek to start, with some acidity and saltiness. Extraordinary flavour development. Becomes dry, stony, minerally, dusty, toasty. Ground white pepper. Chillies.
FINISH
Medium to long, slightly bitter, drying finish with a warming effect.
TALISKER DISTILLERS EDITION
“Crisp peat at first then softens to enormous richness in the mouth.
There’s sweet, roasty malt with a heathery dryness. The sherry notes keep back some of the usual Talisker pepperiness. In its place is luscious, slightly oily sweetness – with ripe, juicy fruit and vanilla”
Donald John McEwen Process Operator
Distillers Edition
The Distillers Edition is unique: after its usual aging process in American oak casks, the whisky undergoes a second maturation in casks previously holding sherry. The result is older, sweeter and richer than the regular bottlings.

APPEARANCE
Chestnut brown
Nose
Sharp and well focussed; no lingering, rambling smoke here. A sultana sweetness. One of the most tantalising sherry noses - certainly the cleanest

Clean and intense, with light smoke like a struck match. Creamy toffee balanced by fruit. Hints of seaweed, heather blossom and vanilla.
