Port Ellen 24 Years Old
 59.4%   |    70cl

A subtle example of the make, earthy and sweetly sensuous; somewhat faded but still with clear identity. A deliciously individualistic malt, and with only 2000 bottles available, it’s truly rare.

Port Ellen 24 Year Old
Taste the character and craft in every drop.

Region

From Port Ellen on the Isle of Islay.

Appearance

Amber in colour.

Nose

Fresh like garden mint and bay leaves. Petrol and seaweed, dry hessian and a whiff of chlorine, is masked by a tickly nose-feel.

Body

Lightly oily, clingy in body.

Palate

Sweet, vegetal with more garden mint. Parsley, earthy notes and sesame seeds or cereal grain. Delicately smoky to start, growing all the time, with lychees in mid palate.

Finish

Very long and sweet, yet with seaweed and salt. Eventually, the salt dominates. Very late spicy intensity. The aftertaste is lightly smoky, becoming more maritime and beach-like.
