"A nose of rich, fruity sherry, figs and fragrant spice. Full-bodied, soft, malty and honeyed in the mouth. The finish is lengthy, slightly perfumed, with spicy oak."

Gavin D Smith, Malt Whisky Yearbook 2015, p.111

The perfect

Glen Elgin works best served in a traditional whisky glass, neat or with a little water.

The ‘fruitcake in a bottle’ needs a sweet partner that won’t overload the palate. We suggest vanilla cheesecake.

The fruity, ginger indulgence of Glen Elgin and the velvet of a warm creme brulee. It’s obvious when you think about it.

Expert Reviews
Insights from some of the best in the business

"A combination of long, slow ferments, and distillation coupled with worm tubs gives a ludicrously fruity spirit, which here is bulging with ripe peach, apricot, and Galia melon coated in cinnamon and nutmeg, given thick weight by the worm tubs. A classic."

Dave Broom, Whisky Advocate Summer 2013, p.114

"Ginger, crystallised barley sweet and a complex array of fruit on the nose, a beautiful balanced taste with light fruit, sweet spice and a zesty freshness and mouth filling finish."

Dominic Roskrow, Malt Whisky Yearbook 2015, p.11

"It is always good to try something that you have never sampled before, and Glen Elgin gets a tick from us both in terms of character and as another distillery on our ever growing list.", 2014
