Malts Club Points Withdrawal FAQs

1. What is Malts Club?

Malts Club is the loyalty programme for Malts.com, covering over 12 whisky brands and distilleries. It’s open to anyone, you just have to register on Malts.com to join.

2. What is happening to Malts Club?

We’re reimagining Malts Club to bring you closer to the iconic whisky brands and distillery experiences on offer through Malts.com. Over the coming months, we’ll be introducing a curated selection of benefits tailored to your whisky journey. Expect access to exclusive editions, personalised recommendations based on your flavour profile, invitations to in-person experiences at our Scotland distilleries and beyond, and the latest news in Whisky delivered direct from the distilleries. We will continue to offer all Malts Club Members free delivery and engraving. In the meantime, we’ll be phasing out Malts Club points, effective 30th June. We’ll stop collecting points from 3rd June, however you will have until 30th June to use them for a discount on whisky purchases.

3. What will I still receive from Malts Club in the meantime?

Malts Club members will still enjoy free delivery and engraving, and of course this is the perfect opportunity to try a new whisky with a discount using your remaining points.

4. How long have members got to use up their points?

Members should use their points up by 30th June, when the point redemption officially ends.

5. What are the points worth?

In GB, when they are logged in and make a purchase on malts.com, members will get £5 off their purchase for every 500 points they redeem (500 points = £5 discount; 1000 points = £10 discount; 1500 points = £15 discount; 2000 points = £20 discount; etc.) up to a potential £30 off per purchase transaction. Similarly, in the EU, when logged in, members’ points can be redeemed for discounts as follows: 500 points = €5 discount; 1000 points = €10 discount; 1500 points = €15 discount; 2000 points = €20 discount; etc. Subject to minimum order values and local restrictions*

* For customers in the Netherlands only: each order may only have a discount applied to 25% of the net cash amount. According to Dutch law, it is not permitted to offer more than a 25% discount on a Product containing alcohol.

6. How do members use their points?

To redeem their points, Malts Club members can simply log in to their Malts Club account when making a purchase and they will be prompted to click APPLY to redeem their points for a discount during checkout. In GB, members will get £5 off their purchase for every 500 points they redeem, up to a potential £30 off per purchase transaction. The minimum order value for each discount voucher in GB is as follows:

7. What rewards will the updated Malts Club offer?

Malts Club members will be rewarded with the following benefits:

  • Access to exclusive and limited-edition products from our distilleries

  • Free delivery & engraving

  • Personalised recommendations based on your flavour profile (What’s Your Whisky)

  • Priority access to distillery events and experiences (Fèis ìle, Islay Jazz Festival)

  • Joining our community of makers, master blenders, and malts enthusiasts (eg. inspiring stories delivered straight to their inbox and social channels).

8. What if I can’t spend my points by 30th June?

Unfortunately, you will lose them if you cannot use them by 30th June – so make sure you take advantage of your points!

9. Why am I no longer collecting points?

As announced to all members on April 30th, Points collection ends on June 3rd, however you will have until June 30th to use them for a discount on whisky purchases.

This is because we’re reimagining Malts Club to bring you closer to the iconic whisky brands and distillery experiences on offer through Malts.com.

We will continue to offer all Malts Club Members free delivery and engraving.

10. I was told in an email to redeem my points, but when I logged into my account, I didn’t have any. Where have they gone?

As a Club member, you received notification of changes to the Club, regardless of your points balance. If you have a nil balance, you may have already used all your points. As outlined in the terms & conditions, points expire after one year (GB) / two years (DE/BE/NL) without activation or purchasing. Unfortunately, we are unable to redeem points back to your account if they have expired due to inactivity.

11. Can I convert my points to anything else?

No, the points can only be used for a discount at the checkout on Malts.com, and must be used before 30 June.

12. What if I have a large number of points I was saving toward something special?

The maximum number of points you can use on a single transaction in GB is 3000 (ie £30 off). So, if for example, you have 6000 points you could get £30 off two separate purchases. For customers in the Netherlands only: each order may only have a discount applied to 25% of the net cash amount. So, you can use your points across for a discount of up to 25% on your selected product(s).

13. Can I still collect points up to 30th June?

The ability to collect points on purchases will stop on 3rd June, but you still have up until 30th June to redeem them.

14. If I can still redeem points until June 30th, why can’t I collect points after June 3rd?

Points collection must be switched off by June 3rd, but we would like to show our appreciation of our Club Members by giving them a bit of extra time to use all their remaining points so they don’t miss out on a chance to enjoy a discount.

15. My birthday is coming up. Will I receive my Birthday Points Bonus?

Unfortunately, we will no longer be able to offer the Birthday Points Bonus once points collection is switched off, so members who have a birthday after the June 3rd cutoff will not receive the bonus.

16. Do I need to do anything to become a member of the refreshed scheme?

No, you are already a member of Malts Club, so we will contact you about the updated scheme when the changes go live.

17. What if I don’t want to remain a Malts Club member?

If you do not wish to remain a member of Malts Club, please contact customerservice@malts.com to terminate your membership.

The termination of your membership does not affect your marketing preferences and you will continue to receive our newsletter unless you specifically opt out of that too.
