The Lagavulin 15 Year Old Fèis Ìle 2025 edition is a rare and richly layered single malt, matured in refill butts and hogsheads from 2009, then finished for nearly two years in seven Moscatel de Málaga casks inspired by an 1899 archival reference. This sweet Andalusian fortified wine imparts luscious, fruity depth to Lagavulin’s signature peat smoke, creating a luxurious balance of richness and complexity. Bottled exclusively for the Fèis Ìle festival, it’s a bold yet refined expression best enjoyed neat or with a touch of water—and perfectly paired with dark chocolate.
Rich, rounded, and complex. Classic Lagavulin notes of iodine and carbolic mingle with salted toffee, black cherries, and a hint of berries. With water, maritime aromas emerge—smouldering peat, sea breeze, salt crystals, and a whisper of white grape.
Medium to full, with a creamy-smooth, mouth-filling texture.
Bold and intense. A sweet and slightly salty start gives way to surging peppery spice and smoky depth. With a splash of water, the dram softens beautifully, balancing fruit sweetness with sea salt and dry spice, all cloaked in Lagavulin’s signature smoke.
Long, warming, and drying. Waves of sweet smoke and spice linger, evolving into a mouth-tingling Sichuan pepper heat in the aftertaste.
