1826
The distillery is founded near Whitehouse Farm, 700ft above sea level on the northern shoulder of its mountain namesake.
1829
Washed away in the great flood of 1829.
1835
The farmstead at Lower Lyne of Luthrie is adapted to serve as a distillery.
1865
Becomes property of the Edward family who go on to own Oban.
1896
Stillhouse and buildings damaged by fire, which leads to extensive modernisation.
1922
Distillery saved from difficult times by John Dewar & Sons.
1943-1945
Closed due to barley and staffing shortages brought by the war.
1951
The distillery is connected to the national grid and undergoes massive changes, leaving behind its generator, steam engine and waterwheel.
1955
Rebuilt and remodelled for hopefully the last time.
1966
The number of stills is doubled to six.
1971
Mashing process is modernised.
1978
Bonded warehouse built on site.
