Visit the Talisker Distillery

Nestled by the sea on the shores of Loch Harport, with the stunning Cuillin Hills as a backdrop, Talisker Distillery stands proudly. It's a place steeped in legend and rich with folk tales passed down through the ages. Discover the history, mystery, and magic of the distillery and its whisky through a range of tours, experiences, and guided tastings.

If you are unable to find a suitable booking time, then please do still visit our retail store and Campfire Bar where you will receive a warm welcome. Sample a dram or carefully-curated cocktail, whilst you browse our selection of Scottish apparel and gifts.

Talisker is in silent season from the 9th-24th of November inclusive. This is a planned closure that allows the distillery to undergo crucial annual maintenance. During Silent Season, we will not be running any experiences that access the distillery in this time but we will be running a host of tasting and interactive experiences in our Brand Home Visitor Centre. The retail store and bar will be open as usual.

Here you will find all the information you need to book, plan and enjoy a unique Talisker experience. Early booking is strongly recommended to avoid disappointment.

Getting Here

Address: Talisker Distillery, Carbost, Isle of Skye, IV47 8SR, UK.

Talisker Distillery is located on the Isle of Skye, about 3 hours drive west of Inverness. The rural, single lane roads on Skye can make driving a bit of a challenge for those not used to it, so we always recommend driving with plenty of time. Public transport is limited, although there is a bus stop served by a local Skye bus route. The bus stop is about a two minute walk from the distillery. We always recommend using https://www.travelinescotland.com/ for up to date information.

Opening Hours

Please note that Talisker will be in it's silent season from Sunday 9th November - Monday 24th November inclusive.

Please note that during winter, the distillery may have to close at short notice due to weather conditions. Please check our Google listing for up-to-date information before you visit us.

January – February | Monday – Sunday | 10:00 – 16:30

Eat & Drink

The Talisker bar is open from 11:00 to 16:45 on the distillery's opening days (last orders at 16:30).

Accessibility

We’re pleased to have consulted Euan’s Guide to ensure that we provide disabled access information upfront to give all our visitors the confidence to visit our distillery and enjoy the experience. Please do let us know if you have any specific requirements at the time of your booking and a member of staff will be in touch.

Accessible Toilets

Accessible toilets are available within our main Brand Home building. Our facilities include red cords and handrails. Unfortunately, we do not have accessible changing facilities.

Accessible Parking

We have five disabled parking spaces which are directly in front of our main entrance, the closest space is approximately 60 metres from the Brand Home building. There is a route without any steps or obstacles between these spaces and entering the building.

Accessible Areas

The Brand Home building is all on one level, this space includes our bar, retail area and our Made by the Sea and Cask Draw experiences. Our Distillery building which forms part of our Distillery Tour route is on multiple floors, the first floor is accessible via a lift, however our Upper Tun Room and some areas of the Still House are not accessible due to internal staircases in the older part of the building. Please do let us know if you have any specific requirements at the time of your tour booking and a member of staff will be in touch.
