Talisker
Talisker Distillery
Set on the rugged shores of Loch Harport in Carbost on the Isle of Skye, Talisker Distillery is one of Scotland’s most iconic whisky destinations.
Founded in 1830 by the MacAskill brothers, it remains the oldest working distillery on Skye. Talisker is celebrated worldwide for its bold maritime character: smoky, peppery, and unmistakably shaped by the sea.
A visit to Talisker offers whisky lovers the chance to experience a truly elemental island single malt in the place it has called home for nearly two centuries.

Explore Tours
Talisker’s visitor experiences bring the story of this legendary island distillery to life. Guided tours take guests through the whisky-making process, from traditional copper pot stills to coastal maturation, while tastings showcase the bold flavours that define Talisker.
Visitors can choose from introductory distillery tours, immersive tasting sessions, or premium experiences like drawing whisky directly from the cask.

Address: Talisker Distillery, Carbost, Isle of Skye, IV47 8SR, UK.
Talisker Distillery is located on the Isle of Skye, about 3 hours drive west of Inverness. The rural, single lane roads on Skye can make driving a bit of a challenge for those not used to it, so we always recommend driving with plenty of time. Public transport is limited, although there is a bus stop served by a local Skye bus route. The bus stop is about a two minute walk from the distillery. We always recommend using https://www.travelinescotland.com/ for up to date information.
We recommend you visit Traveline Scotland to plan your route and keep up to date with transportation options.
