Roe & Co 13 Year Old Cask Strength 2021 Edition Single Grain Irish Whiskey
Roe & Co Cask Strength 2021 Edition was aged for 13 years and was finished in “alligator” new oak casks, named for the pattern produced on the barrel as a result of charring. “With the 2021 Cask Strength edition, we've chosen to finish this Irish grain in a particularly interesting and unique cask,” said Roe & Co's head distiller, Lora Hemy. “The grain is well matured and been specifically chosen to finish in these casks to heighten and develop the flavors that already exist in grain whiskey."
A delightful blend of dark chocolate and ripe red fruits, such as cherries and plums, complemented by hints of caramel and honey. Subtle floral undertones and a touch of spice add complexity to the aroma.
Rich and full-bodied, featuring layers of red fruit flavors intertwined with notes of nectarine and malty vanilla. The influence of the port cask maturation imparts a depth of flavor, with hints of cinnamon and a gentle warmth.
Long and satisfying, with lingering notes of raspberry, baking spices, and a touch of red licorice. The finish is well-balanced, leaving a pleasant sweetness on the palate.
