A staple of the Scottish Lowlands since 1825, Glenkinchie is one of the few surviving distilleries in the region. It’s just fifteen miles from the Scottish capital, earning it the nickname ‘The Edinburgh Malt’.
However, the distillery feels a million miles away from the city, with fields of barley and hills that roll to the Firth of Forth.
Named after the Kinchie Burn which provides water for the distillery, Glenkinchie is a delicately flavored whisky which combines floral and creamier notes.
Its light profile means it’s an excellent pairing for seafood, particularly sushi and shellfish.

The beautiful Victorian redbrick distillery you see today includes the original houses for the workers, complete with a bowling green. Inside it boasts the largest wash in the industry. Its traditional cast-iron worm tub cools the liquid and gives it more character and depth.
As one of the last remaining in the area, Glenkinchie Distillery is vital for ensuring the traditions of Lowland whisky-making continue to thrive.

Glenkinchie is pronounced “Glen-kin-chee”, the name comes from the nearby Kinchie Burn which itself was named after the de Quincey family who owned the lands around it.
