Johnnie Walker

Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost and Rare Pittyvaich Edition Blended Scotch Whisky, 70cl

A handcrafted blend using just eight of the rarest whiskies from the unparalleled Johnnie Walker reserves of maturing Scotch, at the heart of this limited edition are exceptional single malts from the “ghost” distillery of Pittyvaich, that closed in 1993 after only 18 years of life. It is one of the shortest-lived distilleries in Scotland. A hidden gem now whispered about the world over for its unique Speyside style.

For many years these irreplaceable casks of maturing whisky have been carefully watched over by Johnnie Walker Master Blender, Jim Beveridge, and his small team of expert whisky makers. This limited edition is their opportunity to shine a light on the distinct autumnal flavours that can be found in Johnnie Walker Blue Label through the exceptionally rare character of Pittyvaich.

Serving Suggestion: Best enjoyed neat, alternating with sips of iced water on the side.

Delivery is always free for Malts Club members and orders over £50.
Body

Gentle butterscotch, stewing orchard fruits and a dash of cinnamon, all combining to shine a light on this rarely seen “ghost” whisky.

Nose

Sweet, fruit notes of fresh apple gather with the autumnal flavours of Pittyvaich. A blend of very rare whiskies from a quartet of Speyside distilleries including Mannochmore, Auchroisk, Cragganmore and Strathmill alongside the Highland whisky of Royal Lochnagar, bring aromas of dark fruit and berries.

Palate

Beautifully balanced with the delicate subtle sweetness of honeycomb and soft wood from the “ghost” whiskies of Port Dundas and Carsebridge.
