Cardhu

Cardhu 16 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky, The Four Corners of Scotland Collection, 70cl

Cardhu 16 Year Old is the third release from the ‘Four Corners of Scotland Collection’. This limited-edition series of Single Malts commemorates the transformation of the brand homes of Glenkinchie, Cardhu, Caol Ila, and Clynelish. The four distilleries represent the four corners of Scotland. Each of the Four Corners of Scotland collection beautifully shows the classic aromas and tastes of one special region. This collection is exclusively available online at Malts.com. This special strength 16-year-old release from selected casks is made to commemorate the transformation of the home of Cardhu malt whisky in 2021 located Speyside, Scotland. Cardhu has long been at the heart of Johnnie Walker whiskies. In 1893 it was the very first distillery to be brought into the Johnnie Walker family. It still displays the classic smooth Speyside character that John Walker & Sons valued so highly then.

Serving Suggestion: Neat. With water it is softer, with notes of sweet fondant.

Delivery is always free for Malts Club members and orders over £75.
Appearance

Unusually vibrant, this Cardhu from selected refill and fresh-charred American Oak casks has character and complexity.

Body

The texture is creamy-smooth.

Nose

The lively, fresh and floral aroma yields grassy top notes with ripe orchard fruits and a trace of vanilla, on light balsa wood base.

Palate

The taste starts sweet, then there is a delicious spicy dryness as really peppery warmth lasts into the long finish. Adding a good dash of water calms this and brings out sweet, light juiciness.

Finish

The finish remains pleasingly long; sweet chilli-pepper heat lingers on the aftertaste.
