From Fast-Flowing Waters to Complex Whisky

Cragganmore was founded by legend Big John Smith, one of Speyside’s great whisky pioneers. He chose this location for its pure water source and its connection to the Great Highland Railway line, which allowed the rich tastes of Cragganmore to reach markets across Scotland. Thanks to Big John, Cragganmore was the first Speyside distillery to take advantage of railway transport as a means of bringing in raw materials, and sending out their delicious, unique malt.
